VarunRaj Gandhi is a Picture Editor based in Toronto.
Varun grew up in India and developed an interest in Picture Editing while making short films during his years in college. He attended Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in California, where he graduated in 2015 with an MFA in Film Production with an emphasis in Editing. Since then, Varun has worked for Disney Studios in Los Angeles as well as Lyca Productions and Excel Entertainment in India as a Digital Promos Editor for top tier Films and TV shows.
In 2019, Varun moved to Toronto and has since worked with some prominent companies such as National Film Board of Canada, Scott Brother's Entertainment, Uninterrupted Canada, Good Karma Company, Aircraft Pictures etc. Varun has been a mentee of the Canadian Cinema Editor's Mentorship Program and is a member of the Directors Guild of Canada as a Picture Editor.
He has edited serveral scripted shorts and also edited 2 TV Documentaries. His latest being Superfan: The Nav Bhatia Story, a CBC Originals Documentary based on the life of Toronto Raptors Superfan Nav Bhatia. He also works as a 1st Assistant Picture Editor for scripted Film & TV shows for major networks.
Varun is driven by both the art as well as the technology that constitutes the domain of Post-Production. He revels in the process of storytelling, be it as an Editor or an Assistant Editor.
